Cristiano Ronaldo until 2021

Contract Extension

It's been a good day for the madridistas as the 3 times Ballon d’Or winner has extended his stay with Real Madrid until 2021. The club made an official announcement on Monday. The contract which will make him the highest paid player in the world earning £500k per week after tax and also has a buy-out clause of whopping £900m.
Cristiano Ronaldo with 371 goals in 360 games is currently the highest goal scorer in the history of this legendary club which had the greats like Alfredo Di Stefano, Gento, Ferenc Puskas, Raul, Zinedine Zidane etc.
A rivalry with Lionel Messi which has been a continuous motivation for him since he joined the club in the summer of 2009, has made him a better player than he ever was. Cristiano Ronaldo's passion for the game has been visible in all his performances. His desire to be at the top is what makes this hard working professional a true legend of the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo has won 2015/16 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup with Real Madrid and Euro 2016 with Portugal.

Never ending desire

Ronaldo will not be retiring from his national team Portugal any time soon.
Upon signing the new five year contract with Real Madrid, the Portuguese captain made it clear he is not thinking about retirement from international football. Cristiano who won Euro 2016 with Portugal after beating France in the final, also said that his contract with Real Madrid will not be his last.
Cristiano who is Portugal's most capped player and also the top scorer said “After what happened at the Euro I sent out a clear message. I think Portugal deserved to win the title. Ever since I was 18 I've been playing for Portugal and since I was named captain I've taken Portugal to new heights. No I'm not contemplating early retirement from the national team.” at an event at Santiago Bernabeu to celebrate his contract extension.
Ronaldo is currently the favorite for a fourth Ballon d'Or after winning UEFA Champions League and Euro 2016. However he reiterated that collective accolades are always of highest priority.
“To win the European championship and get this contract, it's already a dream year,” said Ronaldo.
“I don't vote (for the Ballon d'Or) so I don't get to decide, but I'm overjoyed looking back at the last year. I'm not obsessed with the award. Team awards are important.”
Cristiano recently has faced some criticism for his below par performance in 2016/17 season. He had just scored two goal in his first six La Liga outings, it will be interesting to see how quickly he bounce back as he has the knack of silencing his critics in his own style.
