"I will not retreat" - Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Brought under the revolution, by Jose Mourinho, to bring Manchester United back to winning ways, the Armenian star Henrikh Mkhitaryan is struggling to get playing time at Old Trafford.

Signed from Borussia Dortmund, Mkhitaryan was expected to be one of the main players this season.

Other signings like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Paul Pogba have got regular playing time but Mkhitaryan has made only one start since the beginning of this season and made other five appearances as a substitute.

He was last brought in as a substitute in Turkey in the Europa league tie against Fenerbahce,  which Manchester United lost 2-1.

After the match Mourinho was asked about Mkhitaryan's performance.

"He has to do more", he replied. "It's as simple as that.

"We have big expectations at this club, lots of players for these positions, he has to play better than Mata, Lingard, Martial - he has to play better than them. It's as simple as that.

"Every manager wants to win matches, every manager in the world wants to play the players he thinks can help the team more, and I'm no different."

Seems like Henrikh Mkhitaryan has taken up the challenge and vows not to give up on his dream and fight for his place in the team.

"It's true that I get little time on the field, but I'm not going to give in." He said in response to his manager, via Metro.

"I went a long way to play for Manchester United, so nothing will prevent me from achieving my dream.

"I will not retreat, I will find the strength to reach my goal."

Manchester United are currently 6th in the Premier League table.
